Knee

Since dogs love to play, taking care of joints makes sure that the fun activities for dogs can be continued throughout their lives. The knee joint also called the stifle joint is the most common joint to be affected by injury during play activity. Injuries like cranial cruciate ligament tears and medial patella luxation make the joint instable and cause the inflammation of joints. The leg with the affected joint can partially bear the weight. Maintaining a healthy body weight minimizes the risk of knee inflammation later in life.

Your vet will prescribe anti-inflammatory medication, dietary supplements, physical therapy, or surgery depending on the severity of the inflammation.  These therapies will help in keeping the joints strong and improving the quality of life.
