Bladder

Kidneys after filtering out the body fluid, produce urine which is stored in the urinary bladder until it is excreted out of the body through the urethra. The urethra is a passageway for urine excretion and its length protects against infection. If urinary tract infections occur frequently and are persistent, it needs to be evaluated for any underlying causes which include urinary bladder stones, prostatic disease, and cancer. Symptoms of inflammation in the bladder include blood in the urine and strain to urinate. The failure to urinate is an emergency condition and needs to be treated immediately to remove the obstruction.
