Eyes
eyes are the organs for detecting colors, forms, and depth. Tapetum, present in the eyes, helps in seeing in the dark. The yellow-green reflective layer which is visible on shining the light in your dog’s eye is tapetum. Eyes are delicate and complex in structure and said to be windows to the rest of the body. They consist of nerves, blood vessels, and lymphoid tissues which can be seen using specialized equipment. In case of any problem in the eye, the inner layer of the eye is inspected which helps in determining whether the cause of the problem is local or systemic. Local problems include
conjunctivitis and glaucoma while systemic problems include redness of the eye due to retinal bleeding which can be caused by high systemic blood pressure.
