Coccidia

Coccidiosis is a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract. It is the major cause of diarrhea in pets. This is common in pets that are young, feeble, and have a weak immune system. Adult pets could be positive for coccidia, yet do not show any symptoms. Treating coccidiosis requires antibiotic therapy to combat the infection. Food containing probiotics are easily digestible and aid in the healing of the digestive tract. Besides this, it is very important to keep your pet hydrated throughout the treatment. Although coccidia is not contagious, yet hygienic practices like hand washing and bathing should be ensured.
