The Maltese are very active and intelligent dogs with lovely temperaments. Even with their small size, Maltese are active and high-energy dogs.

The Maltese is an old dog breed, one of the tiny “bichon” dogs discovered around the Mediterranean. In the mid of the nineteenth century, the Maltese was firmly established as a family dog in the UK and was the 1st breed to be shown at dog shows in the UK.
