History
Belgian shepherd dogs were created in Belgium in the late 19th century and recorded as the Chien-de Berger Beige in France and Belgium. The Malinois had been called so after the city of Malines, where working competitors and trainers had created it.
Physical Appearance
Malinois are fawn-colored and shorthaired dogs with a dark-colored mask. They’re among four types of Belgian-herding dogs and have been exhibited in the USA as a separate dog breed since 1959.
