Yorkshire Terrier is a small-sized dog breed. This dog is energetic and can be a caring friend if trained properly.

History

The Yorkshire Terrier came from Yorkshire. In the mid-nineteenth century, employees from Scotland arrived in Yorkshire searching for work and took various terrier types with them. In the 19th century, miners attempted to create Black-and-Tan Terriers, ratting terriers along with the Clydesdale and Paisley Terriers.

Physical Appearance

Yorkshire terriers are the tiniest of dogs. They have a smaller-sized head, and their muzzle is medium in size. The ears are v-shaped, set high, and head is erect. The body is small, having a level back.

Care and Grooming

Your Yorkie can benefit from regular brushing to make its coat smooth, soft, and free from tangles, debris and mats. However, don’t brush the Yorkie’s coat when it’s dry! Dry brushing the Yorkshire terrier may cause the fine hair to break off.
