Samoyed

Samoyed is a joyful, good-natured dog. It is sometimes called “Sammy smile.”

History      

The Samoyed was recognized as a basal dog breed that predates the development of the new breeds in the nineteenth century. Samoyeds were chosen for herding, hunting, reindeer, as well as hauling sleds for the Samoyed individuals in Siberia.

Physical Appearance

Samoyeds are squarely-built, strong dogs, having a hairy plumed tail rounded over the back and draped to one side.

Care and Grooming

The Samoyed may need regular brushing and bathing. This gentle dog can be bathed as frequently as weekly, but no less than every six weeks. In this dual-coated breed, appropriate bathing and drying methods lay the groundwork for attaining a lovely coat and healthier skin.
