Havanese

The Havanese started back in 1500s in Cuba. Havanese is a small and powerful dog having a loving, playful personality. Generally, these intelligent dogs are good-natured and are the best family dogs. 

History

The Havanese is an ancient dog breed from the bichon family. Initially, Tenerife dogs originated in Cuba with Spanish noblemen and farmers in the early 1500s. With Castro’s trend, some Cubans who fled to the USA took their Havanese with them. These dogs became the foundation stock for the Havanese nowadays.

Havanese have a longer body than their height; this breed has drop ears and tail curls on the back.

Care and Grooming

Havanese requires regular grooming. A full brush out 2-3 times weekly is better with baths every 1-2 weeks, depending upon the coat.
