Chesapeake Bay Retriever

Chesapeake Bay retrievers aren’t as gregarious as many other retriever breeds; however they usually like kids.

History

It’s thought that the origin of this dog breed occurred after the appearance of two Newfoundland Dogs in the region in the early nineteenth century. After being carefully bred with local dogs, the 1st of the Chesapeake Bay Retriever dogs was created. The dog breed was created to resist the freezing temperature of the water in the Bay.

Chesapeake Bay Retriever has a shorter wavy coat in sedge, dead grass-color, brown.

Care and Grooming

The coat my shed, and a good brushing once in 7 days will be good. This breed doesn’t need much grooming. The nails should be cut regularly, as long nails can cause pain to the dog.
