History

The Bloodhound is a large-sized scent hound, initially bred for hunting wild boar, deer and, since ancient times, for tracing people. Thought to have originated from hounds once kept in the Abbey of Saint Hubert, Belgium, it’s recognized to French speakers as le-Chien de-Saint Hubert.

The Bloodhound is a large-sized dog with long floppy ears and wrinkly skin on the face.

Care and Grooming

The Bloodhound is a scent-hound, and therefore it is made low down with wrinkles and flaps and long ears. They must be groomed every 4 to 6 weeks to clean the ears, cut nails and examine anal glands.
