History

Miniature Schnauzers had been initially bred to become ratters and protect dogs on farms. In the mid-to-late nineteenth century, they were created in Germany by cross-breeding the Standard Schnauzer with smaller-sized breeds, like the Affenpinscher, Miniature Pinscher, and maybe the Pomeranian or Poodle.

Care and Grooming

The Miniature Schnauzer isn’t a “wash and wear” dog. They need regular grooming every 4 to 6 weeks. This dog breed needs regular combing and brushing, nail cutting, ear cleaning, and cutting or hand stripping.
