History
The Great Pyrenees, also known as Pyrenean mountain dog, is a good-sized working dog, possibly of Asian origins, that showed up in European countries between 1800-1000 BC. The Great Pyrenees had been initially found in the Pyrenees Mountain tops to protect flocks of sheep from bears and wolves.

Care and Grooming
A Great Pyrenees needs regular brushing and bathing to keep its coat healthy and free from tangles. Just like most other breeds, this stunning dog can be bathed every week but no less than once in every six weeks. Proper bathing and drying strategies lay the groundwork for attaining a lovely coat with this double-coated dog breed.
